Qatar Foundation (QF) is set to celebrate this year’s National Day by hosting a tent at Darb Al-Saai, from December 9-20. QF invites all members of the public to join the festivities and take part in a range of engaging activities designed to showcase national pride.
Boasting a packed schedule of events, the QF tent will be centered around the QF timeline, as well as the colors of the Qatari flag. Visitors will be given the opportunity to learn about QF through its immersive ‘globe’ activity, record wishes and memories on the dedicated ‘pledge wall’, and nominate individuals who best embody the four morals of its Akhlaquna initiative – mercy, tolerance, honesty, and generosity.
Additionally, QF will host fun activities based on Siraj, its 3D educational TV series which aims to instill a love of the Arabic language, and its popular National Reading Campaign, which promotes a passion for reading among young people.
Mrs. Mayan Zebeib, Chief Communications Officer, QF, said: "Qatar National Day represents an important occasion for this country. It’s an opportunity for us, as a nation, to come together as one, to reflect on our accomplishments, the challenges we’ve had to overcome, and, most importantly, look ahead to the future. Indeed, this year, Qatar’s celebrations serve as a tangible demonstration of the values and the morals that define us as a nation.
“Our various activities at Darb Al-Saai, which are represented by QF’s four core mission areas – Pre-University Education, Higher Education, Science and Research, and Community Development – demonstrate our ongoing dedication to supporting the development of Qatar, as well as our belief in this country’s great leaders and their vision for the future,” Mrs. Zebeib concluded.
A number of QF centers and partner universities are also set to host activities at the QF tent. Some of these include: Qatar Green Building Council, which will offer a range of sustainability games and recycling activities; Qatar Music Academy, where students will hold performances; Qatar National Library, which will give visitors the opportunity to register and receive their library membership cards; and QatarDebate, which will organize live debates on stage.
The QF tent at Darb Al-Saai will run from December 9-20. It will be open from 8am-12pm and 4pm-10pm from Saturday - Thursday, while on Fridays it will open from 2pm.
