Qatar National Library, a member of Qatar Foundation, will participate in the upcoming Annual Research Conference (ARC’14) by offering visitors a host of unique and valuable services at a specially-designated booth in Qatar National Convention Centre’s exhibition hall.
Among the donated books is a replica of ‘Jikji,’ which was the first in the world to be printed using movable metal types in July 1377. The donated books also reflect different sources of knowledge and information in a variety of fields such as literature, history, and arts.
Readers turned out for the first Qatar National Library book discussion. The 20 guests were treated to a surprise visit from author Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, whose first book The Corsair, a historical novel about war and piracy in the Gulf region in the early 19th century, was discussed.
