Introduction:
At Qatar Academy, we actively seek to improve as an institution by participating in the process of accreditation as well as thinking and acting strategically on our mission and vision statements. Our five- year Strategic Plan provides us with the opportunity to engage in a reflective exercise identified by the three prestigious international agencies: the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the International Baccalaureate (IB).

During the 2014 – 2015 school year we introduced the Middle School concept to our community. We are providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for students in grades 6 – 8. Our teachers are specifically trained to teach the students in the middle grades, and we have a robust co-curricular program designed to meet their needs beyond the classroom. At the High School level, we continue to feature the MYP curriculum in grades 9 and 10 while preparing our students for their university education by offering the IB Diploma program in grades 11 and 12.

This is our second year of offering single gender classes to students in grades 6 – 10. Our 11th & 12th grade students will receive their coursework in mixed classes in preparation for academic life at the post – secondary level.

Courses and Curriculum:
A dynamic classroom curriculum combined with community and service programs, experiential education, and extra-curricular activities enable students to participate in and reflect on the educational journey from preschool through the university admissions process. Students are a respected part of the learning process shared with parents and teachers. They are encouraged to be risk takers, unafraid to ask questions and confidently seek answers.

QA students have unique opportunities to travel, study and participate in sports throughout the Middle East region and all over the world. Locally, Senior School students participate in and help organize The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) Qatar Conference and Film Festival. Primary School students spend nearly a week each year off-site at QA's School Without Walls facility located along the coast of the Arabian Gulf. Students also travel within the Gulf Region for co-curricular opportunities related to sports and activities.

Qatar Academy does not just educate. QA prepares students for work, life and leadership in their own communities and society at large.

What Makes Your School Unique?

Qatar Academy (QA) is one of the Middle East’s premier educational institutions. QA is an International Baccalaureate World School also accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the Council of International Schools. The school offers academic excellence through Primary, Middle Years and IB Diploma programs based on the principle that education involves the development of a student’s cognitive, physical, social, moral and affective capabilities.
